FCDS Visiting Artists Program

Our Visiting Artists Program welcomes accomplished artists to campus each year to work with students. Boys meet practicing painters, illustrators, photographers, and printmakers, then experiment with new techniques through assemblies and hands-on workshops.

Established in 2022, the Dr. Marian V. Sowa Visiting Artists Fund honors Dr. Sowa, a board-certified neurologist, avid artist, musician, and lifelong learner who believed deeply in the role of creativity in education. The Fund makes it possible to bring creatives to campus and broaden students’ exposure to different mediums and artistic expression.

These opportunities open a window into how artists see, interpret, and respond to the world and encourage boys to look more closely and approach their own work with a fresh perspective.
