Giving At FCDS

Since 1936 when Fairfield Country Day School first opened its doors, philanthropy has been an integral factor in the growth and success of the school. Throughout the history of our school the generosity of many people – alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty and friends - has brought the school to where it is today.

This spirit of philanthropy remains a vital component in the current fiscal health and vitality of Fairfield Country Day. All members of the FCDS community can help sustain the standards of excellence that define a Fairfield Country Day education. Please explore the many ways in which a donor can choose to support FCDS – the Annual Fund, Endowment and Capital Projects, Parents' Association and Planned Giving.
Annual Fund
Annual Fund contributions are raised to sustain and enhance the school’s operating budget. Last year annual fund contributions accounted for 6% of the general operating budget. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund make it possible for FCDS to enhance the academic program, to stay current with technological advances in the classroom, to attract and retain excellent faculty, to maintain and improve the facilities and to offer financial aid to qualified students.

Parents, alumni, grandparents, friends, corporations and foundations are all important to the success of each annual fund campaign. Participation from the entire FCDS community reinforces the strength of our school. There are many ways to give, we hope you will find one that facilitates your ability to support Fairfield Country Day.

Capital Campaigns
Capital funds are raised to provide the resources for specific projects such as building enhancements, new construction and endowment growth.

Thanks to the generosity of the Country Day community, since 1992 Country Day has raised approximately $10 million enabling the school to renovate and expand the facilities and increase the endowment.

Endowment
Endowment funds are critical to the long term financial health of the school. These funds provide income to some of the school’s primary responsibilities such as financial aid and faculty professional development. The current endowment of $5.6 million is derived from a variety of funds.
Planned Giving
Planned giving offers a wonderful opportunity to invest in the future of Fairfield Country Day School. Past and current students have been the beneficiaries of planned gifts from previous benefactors and we hope future FCDS students will benefit from bequests made by current members of the FCDS family.

Named in honor of the school’s founder, Lawrence Gregory, The Gregory Society honors those individuals who have made provisions for FCDS in their estate plans either through and outright bequest, charitable trust or other instrument of estate planning.
